Real Estate

Sometimes, whether it's to be close to grand-babies, finding a community more resolved to a senior's lifestyle, or just finding that special place on a mountain or a beach that better suites your environmental and emotional needs, the relocation card works its way to the top of your retirement deck. When it does, a multitude of decision points float into plain view. If you are to relocate, then where to go is usually one of the first considerations. It is followed very closely by: what will it cost if to relocate? Will there be suitable medical facilities in the new community? What kinds of senior activities are there?

If a move is in your stars, you have digested all the best places to retire articles, and you have chosen a location, the next step is to find a local real estate agent in order to sell your current home, and one in the area where you would like to move. The National Association of Realtors has a certification process called Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES). These folks have spent time learning and studying the ins and outs of servicing the senior market in their specific locality. Visit the SRES website for a list of qualified Realtors.
